An Odisha native who chopped a
woman into 59 pieces and stored body parts in a fridge in Bengaluru wrote in
his purported suicide note that he committed the crime as he was fed up with
her conduct.
The suicide note written by Mukti
Ranjan Ray, 30, in his diary was a confessional statement which read: “I have
killed my lover Mahalakshmi on 3 September. I fought with her over personal
matters and Mahalakshmi assaulted me. Enraged by her act, I killed her,"
Shantanu Kumar Jena, Station House Officer at Dhusuri police station in Odisha
told Salar News.
Ray was found hanging from a tree
in his village in Bhadrak district in Odisha on Wednesday.
The parents of the accused were not
aware of the murder and are now in a state of shock, according to Odisha police.
Kunjalata Ray, mother of Mukthi, said her son had been trapped by Mahalakshmi. “She
kept asking for money from him. I asked him why he didn’t flee from there
(Bengaluru) and resign from his job. He did this out of fear, as the woman kept
demanding money from him."
Ray arrived in Pandi village on
Wednesday and spent some time with his family. He later left on his father’s
scooter and committed suicide by hanging from a tree and was found by locals, Jena
said. –Salar News
