Traffic advisory issued for Ganesha idol processions today

The processions, which will run from 5pm on Wednesday to 6am on Thursday, will affect traffic in mainly two areas: Halasuru and Hongasandra-Madiwala

In view of the processions carrying Ganesha idols on Wednesday, traffic arrangements have been implemented in parts of the City to ensure smooth vehicular movement.


The processions, which will run from 5pm on Wednesday to 6am on Thursday, will affect traffic in mainly two areas: Halasuru and Hongasandra-Madiwala. The processions start from 80 Feet and 100 Feet Roads in Indiranagar, pass through Old Madras Road and conclude at Halasuru Lake. Traffic will be restricted on Old Madras Road from Anjaneya Junction to Kensington Junction and Gurudwara Junction, as well as on Gangadhara Chetty Road from Nagamma Temple Junction to Thiruvalluvar Statue Junction.


Vehicles taking 80ft and 100ft roads should turn left at Anjaneya Junction and travel via Swami Vivekananda Road, Adarsh Junction, Ramaiah Junction, Kamadhenu Junction, Trinity Junction and Webs Junction. Vehicles approaching Old Madras Road from MG Road should turn right at Ramaiah Junction, proceeding via Adarsh Junction, Anjaneya Junction and Swami Vivekananda Road. Vehicles coming from Halasuru Road should proceed through Begum Mahal Junction from Bazar Street to Ramaiah Junction.


Vehicles from Cubbon Road should turn right at Manipal Junction, turn left at Webs Junction and travel through Trinity Junction towards Swami Vivekananda Road. Vehicles from Dickenson Road via St John's Road should turn right at Sri Circle, pass through Ajanta Road, turn right at RBI Junction and then take a left turn at Thiruvalluvar Statue Junction to reach Gangadhara Chetty.


In Hongasandra, Ganesha immersion will occur from 4pm to 10pm, starting at Hongasandra Bus Stop and proceeding to Kodichikkanahalli Junction. Traffic heading towards Beguru from Kodichikkanahalli Junction via Hongasandra Main Road will be blocked at Kodichikkanahalli Junction. Traffic coming towards Kodichikkanahalli Junction from Begur Main Road will be blocked at PK Kalyana Mantapa cross, which is at Hulimavu Traffic Police Station border.


The vehicles going from Begur to Bommanahalli Junction on Hosur Main Road can go directly to Kudlu Gate, and take a right turn to reach Begur Main Road. Vehicles from Bommanahalli Junction towards Devarachikkanahalli and Begur should turn right at Kodichikkanahalli Junction and continue through D Mart Junction. Vehicles from Begur towards Kodichikkanahalli can turn left at PK Kalyana Mantapa cross under Hulimavu Traffic Police Station, using internal roads to reach Kodichikkanahalli and then proceed towards Devarachikkanahalli and Bommanahalli Junction via Kodichikkanahalli Junction. —Salar News
