A 26-year-old pub
bouncer, Naveen Reddy, was arrested by the Bellandur police on Monday night for
allegedly creating a ruckus and damaging a car in a road rage incident on
Sarjapur Main Road. The incident involved a software engineer, Soumyashankar,
his wife, and their nine-month-old child.
According to
police reports, Soumyashankar was returning home from a weekend trip when he
was suddenly forced to brake due to a pothole. The scooter behind him, driven
by Reddy, collided with the vehicle. A heated argument ensued, with Reddy
accusing Soumyashankar of reckless driving and demanding he step out of the
car. Despite the victim's pleas that a baby was in the car, Reddy allegedly
smashed the car's windshield with a wiper blade and a stone. A video recording
of the incident captures the ordeal as the accused hurled abuses against the
couple.
Alarmed by the
situation, passersby intervened and alerted the police. The Bellandur police
arrived at the scene and arrested Reddy. The accused, a resident of Bellandur,
was reportedly returning home from work. A case has been registered against him
under Sections 126, 324, 351, and 352 of the BNS.
The police suspect
that Reddy was under the influence of alcohol. The victim recorded the entire
episode, and the footage was used as evidence. Reddy was sent to police
custody. -Salar News
