BENGALURU, 4 JULY
An 18-year-old
man, Shreyas, from Vijayapura, died on Thursday after suffering an electric
shock outside his residence in Yaraganahalli village, Devanahalli. The incident
occurred around 7.30 am when Shreyas came into contact with a live wire that
was dangling in front of his house. He collapsed and
was rushed to the hospital, but doctors confirmed he died upon arrival due to a
dropped pulse rate.
However, Shreyas's
family alleges negligence, claiming a delayed ambulance arrival and a lack of
immediate medical attention at the hospital contributed to his death. They have
filed a case at the Kempegowda Airport Police Station. According to the FIR,
the doctor did not immediately shift the victim to the emergency ward,
resulting in treatment delay. This is not the first electrical accident in
Bengaluru. In 2023, a woman and her child were electrocuted in Whitefield, and
a 10-year-old girl died after contact with a live wire in Varthur-Gunjur Road. BESCOM
officials were unavailable for comment regarding the disconnected wires or the
reported delay in response. Salar News
