BENGALURU, 3 JULY
An intoxicated final-year student
of Sindhi College at Kempapura in Bengaluru allegedly stabbed to death a
security guard of his college on Wednesday after the latter refused him entry
to the college.
The 24-year-old BA student, Bhargav
Jyothi Burman, was arrested for allegedly killing Bihar native Jai Kishore Roy,
30. On Wednesday, Bhargav tried to enter the college grounds allegedly under
the influence of alcohol and the guard on duty, Roy, refused him entry.
Infuriated Bhargav left the college premises, but returned later with a knife.
As Bhargav, who stayed in a PG
accommodation near the college, attempted to enter the college again, the
security guard asked him to leave. In a heated confrontation, Bhargav attacked
the guard with a knife, inflicting multiple stab wounds. The critically injured
guard was taken to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
An official with Amruthahalli
police said: “We have registered a case under BNS section 103 for murder. An
investigation is underway to determine what exactly happened, from where the
murder weapon was sourced and what is the motive behind the killing.”
This incident comes after Neha
Hiremath was killed by her former classmate in a college in Hubballi on 18
April. Weeks later, Girish Sawant, 23, killed 21-year-old Anjali Ambigera in
Hubballi for rejecting his love proposal. —Salar News
