City police have imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) within a 200-meter radius of the Annapoorneshwari Nagar Police Station. This comes amidst intense media scrutiny surrounding the high-profile murder case of Renukswamy, where Kannada actor Darshan and his friend Pavithra Gowda are among those currently in custody.

The police have also reportedly erected a shamiyana, a temporary tent-like structure, to shield the station from media glare. This action has drawn criticism from the Leader of the Opposition, R Ashoka, who questioned the need for such measures. He reportedly compared the situation to conflict zones such as Kashmir, implying a lack of confidence in the State police's ability to handle a regular investigation.

Maenwhile, Karnataka Law Minister HK Patil has dismissed allegations of special privileges being granted to Darshan of. He refuted claims that the police station was covered to facilitate secretive interrogations. -Salar News
