RPSG group to invest Rs 10,500cr for North Karnataka

The RPSG Group will invest Rs 10,500 crore over the next three years in Karnataka’s Vijayapura and Ballari districts, Large and Medium Industries Minister M B Patil said on Thursday, adding that the State government would extend full support to facilitate the investments. Patil, who is part of the Karnataka delegation at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, said the investments would strengthen the state’s renewable energy and industrial ecosystem.

 

He said the InoxGFL Group, which has already started manufacturing wind turbine blades at Kustagi, plans to set up a facility to manufacture large wind power towers nearby. The group has already invested Rs 10,000 crore in Karnataka. The Ramky Group has expressed interest in establishing Common Effluent Treatment Plants in KIADB industrial areas and has also discussed setting up a Pharma Park. Tech Mahindra has shown interest in making industrial investments in Tier-2 cities.

 

Patil said discussions were held with the Singapore Economic Development Board on setting up a ‘Singapore Park’ in Karnataka, with collaboration opportunities in semiconductors, biotechnology and aerospace. Lenovo discussed partnerships with local suppliers, while Axon Cables plans to expand manufacturing in India. Schneider Electric announced plans to set up 20 additional training facilities in the state. The state also signed an MoU with Swiss Chambers India to strengthen industrial ties with Switzerland.

 

GTTC partners with Aus enterprise

 

The State-run GTTC signed an agreement with 'Workinitiatives', an Australian social enterprise on Thursday, to address Australia's critical skills shortages and create global career pathways for Karnataka's skilled workforce.


This partnership will connect Karnataka's professionals, tradespeople and community workers with Australian employers, focusing on sectors like construction, healthcare, advanced manufacturing and technology The MoU was signed by Siddalingappa Pujari, MD, Government Tool & Training Centre (GTTC) and Chris Carman, founder and CEO of Workinitiatives in the presence of the Skill Development Minister Sharan Prakash Patil in Bengaluru, the minister's office said.
