Lokayukta seizes cash, gold & property deeds in Mysuru raid
Officials across Karnataka face raids as Lokayukta uncovers crores in assets from multiple departments.

In a significant operation conducted on Tuesday, Lokayukta officials uncovered property deeds worth crores, gold ornaments, and large sums of cash during a raid at the residence of Ramaswamy C, a Revenue Inspector at Hootgalli Municipality in Mysuru.
This raid was part of a broader investigation spanning several government officials across the State, triggered by complaints filed by the KLA district units under the SIR process. These officials are implicated in various departments, including municipal administration, revenue, veterinary services, education, and public works.
The list of those under scrutiny includes: Puttaswamy C, CAO of Town Municipality in Mandya; Prem Singh, Chief Engineer of Upper Krishna Project, Bidar; Ramaswamy C himself; Subash Chandra, an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Karnataka University, Dharwad; Sathish, Senior Veterinary Examiner at Primary Veterinary Clinic, Huilgol, Dharwad; Shekhappa, Executive Engineer, Office of the Project Director in Haveri, Davangere; Kumarswamy P, Office Superintendent at RTO, Electronic City in Bengaluru; Lakshmipathi CN, FDA at SIMS Medical College, Agriculture Sales Depot, APMC, Shimoga; Prabhu J, Assistant Director, DVG, Davangere; and Girish D M, Assistant Executive Engineer, PWD, Madikeri.
Additionally, the Lokayukta officials executed a raid at the residence and office of Professor Subhaschandra Natikar at Karnataka University, Dharwad. The operation, led by Lokayukta SP Siddalingappa, targeted Natikar’s home in Shetter Colony and his properties in Talikoti, Koppal district, following allegations regarding inappropriate asset possession.

Meanwhile, Lokayukta officers carried out raids at seven locations linked to Electronic City RTO Office Superintendent Kumarswamy P, registering Crime No. 57/2025 under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The searches uncovered immovable assets worth Rs 3.34 crore, including seven sites, four houses and agricultural land. Movable assets worth Rs 92 lakh were also seized, comprising Rs 22 lakh in cash, jewellery worth Rs 32 lakh, vehicles worth Rs 22 lakh and other items. Investigators assessed Rs 2.86 crore as disproportionate assets, amounting to 204 per cent over his known income. Officers also photographed the search without the official present.
