Karnataka’s Minister for Medical Education,
Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood, Sharanaprakash R. Patil on
Friday urged students to embrace failure as the first step towards learning and
innovation.
Addressing the Global Skill Summit organised by the Kerala government in Kochi, Patil reminded the student community that every entrepreneur, innovator and leader has failed before achieving success.
“Failure is a stepping stone to success.
Governments, industry, and academia can build frameworks, policies, and
institutions, but real change will come from young people who dare to dream
differently,” he said.
Patil said that it is skills combined with
higher education produce individuals who are not only employable, but are also
capable for creating livelihood for others.
The Karnataka minister underlined that
education should not be confined to preparing for exams only. The future of work will be defined by
adaptability, problem-solving, collaboration, and innovation.
Kerala ministers R Bindu (Higher
Education), P Rajeev (Industries), and MB Rajesh (Local Self-Governance) were
also present.
Over 2,000 global thought leaders,
policymakers, industry captains, training institutions, academic faculty,
international organizations, innovators, and students were present on the
occasion.
