3 robbers arrested, gold worth Rs 2.1 cr recovered
Kalaburagi police arrested three men involved in the 11 July jewellery shop robbery, recovering ₹2.1 crore worth of gold and cash after a multi-state operation.

KALABURAGI, 21 JULY
The police have arrested three people in connection with the robbery at a jewellery shop in the Saraf Bazaar area in Kalaburagi.
Kalaburagi city police commissioner Sharanappa SD made the announcement while interacting with the media here on Monday.
The police recovered gold ornaments worth Rs 2.1 crore, 2.865 kilograms of gold and Rs 4.80 lakh in cash from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Ayodhya Prasad Chauhan, 48; Farooq Ahmad Malik, 40, a gold trader; and Sohel Sheikh alias Badshah, 30, a tailor. While Chauhan and Malik hailed from West Bengal, Sheikh was a resident of Mumbai in Maharashtra.
The robbery took place at the Malik Jewellers in Kalaburagi on 11 July.
The police formed five teams and launched a manhunt to nab the culprits. These teams conducted operations in West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Telangana.
The police succeeded in apprehending the robbers. The trio were reportedly involved in multiple robbery cases,
The team led by Chowk police inspector Raghavendra, Brahmapur inspector Somaling, and police personnel Shivananad Walikar and Bande Nawaz had travelled to West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh as part of the investigations.
