Wife asks husband for photoshoot; pushes him into river

A woman allegedly pushed her husband into the Krishna River during a photoshoot in Raichur; he swam to safety, locals rescued him.

Raichur, 12 July

A woman allegedly pushed her husband into the Krishna River the under the pretext of a photoshoot, near the Gurjapur Bridge-cum-Barrage in Raichur taluk. The woman reportedly asked her husband to pose at the edge of the bridge for a photo, and once he was at the very edge, she pushed him into the river.

Due to the strong currents of the Krishna River, the man was carried a short distance downstream.

However, being a good swimmer, he managed to save himself by climbing onto a rock in the middle of the river.

Hearing his screams, local residents rushed to the spot and carried out a two-hour rescue operation using a rope available in nearby fields, ultimately saving the man. After being rescued, the man alleged that his wife had deliberately pushed him into the river. However, the woman claimed that her husband had accidentally slipped and fell.

Some eyewitnesses confirmed that the woman indeed pushed the man. Raichur police have launched an investigation into the incident.
