36 named for externment in Mangaluru communal crackdown

Mangaluru, 3 June

In a major crackdown on repeated communal offenders, the Dakshina Kannada police have proposed the externment of 36 individuals from Mangaluru district under Section 55 of the Karnataka Police Act. These individuals have been accused of inciting communal violence, organising unlawful assemblies, and repeatedly breaching public peace in the sensitive coastal region.

The list includes:

From Bantwal Town — Husainar 46, Mohammad Safaan, 26, Raju alias Rajesh, 35, and Bhuvi alias Bhuvith Shetty, 35.

From Bantwal Rural — Pavan Kumar, 33, Charan alias Charan Raj, 28, Abdul Latheef, 40, Mohammad Ashraf, 44, Moydhin Afghan alias Addu, 24, and Bharat Raj B alias Bharat Kumelu, 38.

From Vittal — Ganesh alias Ganesh Poojary, 35, Abdul Khader alias Saukath, 34, and Chandrhas, 23.

From Beltangady — Manoj Kumar, 37 and Mahesh Shetty Timarodi, 53.

From Puttur Town — Hakeem Koornadka alias Abdul Hakeem, 38, Ajith Rai, 39, Arun Kumar Puthila, 54, Manish S, 34, Abdul Rahiman, 38, and K Azeez, 48.

From Puttur Rural — Kishore, 34, Rakesh K, 30, and Nishanth Kumar, 22.

From Kadaba — Mohammad Nawaz, 32.

From Uppinangady — Santosh Kumar Rai alias Santu Adekkal, 35, Jayaram, 25, Shamsuddin, 36, Sandeep, 24, Mohammad Shakir, 35, and Abdul Azeez alias Karaya Azeez, 36.

From Sullia — Lathesh Gundy, 32 and Manohar alias Manu, 40.

From Bellare — Prasad, 35 and Shameer K, 38.

Police sources confirm many of these individuals are habitual offenders with a record of disrupting communal harmony. The proposal is now under review by the Deputy Commissioner. If approved, the externment will bar these individuals from entering Dakshina Kannada for six months to a year, marking a preventive step to ensure peace and public safety in the region.
