Bengaluru, 16 May

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has revealed the results for the Second PUC Exam-2, recording a pass rate of 31.27 per cent. Out of the 194,077 students who sat the exam, 60,692 achieved passing marks.

Held between 24 April and 8 May across 332 examination centres, this exam provided a supplementary opportunity for students who previously failed or aimed to improve their scores. The overall pass percentage, including reappearing and private candidates, was slightly higher at 35.26 per cent.

Notably, 71,964 candidates retook the exam specifically to enhance their marks, with 41,719 succeeding in their attempts. The majority of these improvement efforts focused on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, reflecting a concerted drive to boost rankings for the Common Entrance Test (CET).

Officials confirmed that updated marks from this round will be factored into CET seat allotments, facilitating access to professional courses such as engineering.

KSEAB has scheduled a third and final round of exams, Exam-3, from 9 to 20 June. Remedial coaching will be available, with no fees for failed candidates. However, improvement and private candidates will incur charges. The Education Department urges students and parents to take this final opportunity seriously to prevent further academic delays.
