Karnataka’s second PUC examination results for the 2024-25 academic year were declared on Tuesday, with girls outshining boys across all streams—Arts, Commerce, and Science.

The overall pass percentage dropped to 73.45 per cent from 81.15 per cent last year, with 6,37,805 students appearing for the exams, of whom 4,68,439 passed.

The top scorers this year include Sanjana Bai from Ballari in Arts (597/600), Deepashree from Dakshina Kannada in Commerce (599/600), and Amoolya Kamat from Dakshina Kannada in Science (599/600). Bengaluru's Pratiksha secured third rank in Commerce with 597 marks.

Bai, the daughter of a truck driver from Mariyammanahalli in Vijayanagar, told Salar News. "I never studied more than four hours a day. My teachers and family kept me going,”

Bengaluru region continued its strong showing, with Bengaluru South recording a pass percentage of 85.36 per cent and Bengaluru North at 83.31 per cent. Udupi topped the State with 93.90 per cent, followed by Dakshina Kannada at 93.57 per cent. At the bottom of the table was Yadgir with just 48.45 per cent.
Amoolya Kamat, the science topper with 599 marks, said, "I studied for long hours after classes and stayed focused. My advice is to not burn out — plan smart, aim clear and stick to it."

Commerce topper Deepashree, also scoring 599, told Salar News she had hoped for 595 but didn’t expect a state rank. "I want to become a chartered accountant — that’s why I chose commerce."
Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa announced that students appearing for the second and third attempts will not be charged exam fees — a move to ensure no student is left behind.
