BIDAR, 18 MARCH
MLA Prabhu B Chavan has raised urgent concerns in the
Legislative Assembly regarding staff shortages in public hospitals, community
health centres, and primary health centres in Aurad (B) and Kamalnagar taluks.
Addressing Health and Family Welfare Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao through an
unstarred question, Chavan was informed that approvals for the recruitment of
337 specialist doctors and 250 general duty medical officers on a contractual
basis are in the final stages.
Moreover, 320 paramedical positions are set to be filled
via a special recruitment committee, with a selection list forthcoming. The
minister also confirmed plans to recruit 1,205 Primary Health Security Officers
and 300 Health Inspectors, with draft special recruitment rules being prepared.
After the assembly session, Chavan underscored the dire need for medical personnel in government hospitals, stressing that residents depend on these facilities for care. He urged immediate action to fill all vacant positions, citing the critical nature of health issues for marginalized communities in the region.
