Mysuru cops urge homestay, resort owners to ensure tourist safety
The police have mandated that prior permission must be obtained when taking tourists to remote locations, with homestay owners held accountable for any incidents involving anti-social elements or wildlife.

MYSURU, 13 MARCH
Following the
gang-rape of a foreign tourist in Hampi, Karnataka, Mysuru police convened a
meeting with resort and homestay owners on Thursday to discuss enhanced safety
measures for visitors. Superintendent of Police N. Vishuvardhan urged owners to
ensure the safety of all tourists, particularly foreign nationals, in the wake
of the recent attack on an Israeli female tourist near the UNESCO heritage
site.
The police have mandated that prior permission must be obtained when taking tourists to remote locations, with homestay owners held accountable for any incidents involving anti-social elements or wildlife. They were also instructed to review itineraries to avoid risky destinations. Additional Superintendent of Police L Nagesh was also present at the meeting.
