YADGIR, 17 FEB
Project delays worsen water crisis
The pipeline installation from the river, 18
km away, to the city's filter bed lake is nearing completion. However, work
in the Sannati Barrage water collection area remains unfinished, further delaying the project. As a
result, residents continue to face periodic water shortages,
with no clear resolution in sight.
In contrast, the Rs 86.82 crore Amrut-2 project, aimed at providing
24/7 drinking water, is advancing swiftly. According to
municipal officials, pipeline installations across 31 wards are nearly complete,
with 12,828
households set to receive tap water connections once finished.
District-in-charge Minister Sharanabasappa Darshanapur successfully secured Rs
400 crore for drinking water projects over the past two years.
However, delays in execution have left residents frustrated, urging authorities
to expedite
the work for a permanent water solution.
Social worker Manappa Hadapad stressed the importance of quality
execution and timely delivery.
