Krishnadutta Chamaraja Wadiyar, a member of parliament and scion of the Mysore
royal family, has strongly condemned the Karnataka government for its continued
delay in issuing Transferable Development Rights (TDR) to his family. This
follows the acquisition of a section of Bangalore Palace Grounds for road
widening, despite a Supreme Court directive instructing the government to issue
the TDR.
Addressing
reporters, Yaduveer alleged that the state government has been targeting the
royal family, particularly since his election as MP for the Mysuru
constituency. He highlighted that a Supreme Court bench, comprising Justices MM
Sundresh and Aravind Kumar, warned the government’s representatives that
failure to comply with previous court orders would have consequences for the
relevant officials.
