Hyderabad, 7 April

The Telangana government on 7 April filed a petition in the High Court seeking action against AI-generated content for allegedly spreading false stories in the 400-acre land case at Kancha Gachibowli.

The petition was filed after Chief Minister Revanth Reddy took serious note of the alleged false stories that are hampering the government's move to develop IT infrastructure in the 400-acre land parcel adjoining the University of Hyderabad (UoH). He had directed officials on 5 April to approach courts to probe the creation of "misleading" AI content regarding the alleged encroachment of Hyderabad University land.

The Telangana government's plan to develop 400 acres of land at Kancha Gachibowli for building IT infrastructure has sparked protests by the UoH students' union. The case is now being heard in the Telangana High Court and the Supreme Court. The agitating students claim that the 400 acres of land belongs to the university, while the state government is refuting such claims.
