Hyderabad, 5 April
Amid the ongoing political row over 400 acres of
land in Kancha Gachibowli, CM Revanth Reddy has received a new proposal. It
suggests incorporating University of Hydrabad’s (UoH) land into a 2,000-acre
eco park project with the world's tallest watchtower.
While there has been no official statement about
the fate of the proposal, students have termed the idea as a mere 'diversionary
tactic' by the state government to divert attention from the ongoing issue
about the 400 acres of land.
In past days, the UoH students' union has staged
protests against the Telangana government's plan to develop 400 acres of land
in Kancha Gachibowli to build IT infrastructure. The matter is now being heard
in the Telangana High Court and the Supreme Court.
The Cyberabad police has banned the unpermitted
entry into the area of the 400-acre land at Kancha Gachibowli till 16 April,
citing the prevailing law and order situation and to prevent any disturbance of
public peace.
