The Aditya Dhar-directed 'Dhurandhar' has scripted history at the box office, emerging as the highest-grossing Indian film ever in a single language.
Released exclusively in Hindi, the film has earned ₹1,240 crore worldwide, according to Jio Studios. The Ranveer Singh-led action drama is the only non-multilingual Indian film to enter the ₹1,000 crore club, surpassing pan-India blockbusters such as 'Jawan' and 'KGF: Chapter 2'.
Despite fresh releases including 'Ikkis' and 'Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri', 'Dhurandhar' has maintained its dominance even after a month in theatres. On January 7 alone, the film collected ₹5.70 crore domestically, taking its India total to ₹831.40 crore.
The film has also rewritten speed records. It crossed ₹500 crore net in India within just 16 days the fastest for any Hindi film and went on to breach ₹600 crore, ₹700 crore and ₹800 crore net milestones in record time. By Day 26, it became the first Hindi film to enter the ₹700 crore net India club.
Globally, 'Dhurandhar' crossed ₹1,100 crore within 24 days and later overtook 'KGF: Chapter 2' and Shah Rukh Khan’s 'Pathaan' to become the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.
The film’s overseas distributor Pranab Kapadia said the makers lost an estimated $10 million in revenue due to the absence of a Middle East release, traditionally a strong market for action films.
Released on 5 December, 2025, the film features Ranveer Singh alongside Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan and Arjun Rampal. A sequel is scheduled for theatrical release on March 19, 2026, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam
