Ranveer Singh-starrer 'Dhurandhar' has been declared tax-free in the Union Territory of Ladakh, Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta announced on Friday.

The decision was communicated through an official post by the Lieutenant Governor’s office on X, stating that the move was aimed at encouraging cinema and tourism in the region.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the spy action film was shot extensively across Ladakh and showcases the region’s landscapes. The Lieutenant Governor said the film highlights Ladakh’s cinematic potential and reflects the administration’s intent to position the UT as a preferred destination for film shoots.

He added that the Ladakh administration is working on a new film policy and will extend full support to film productions in the region.

Released in early December, 'Dhurandhar' has emerged as a box-office success, crossing Rs 1,100 crore in worldwide collections. The film has maintained a strong theatrical run despite competition from 'Avatar: Fire and Ash' and 'Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri'.
