Bengaluru Central’s Mahadevapura constituency, where the Congress leader first flagged the ‘vote chori’ and alleged that over 1 lakh voter names were systemically engineered in that seat to manipulate the results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, is in the eye of the storm again.
Congress Rajya Sabha MP Mansoor Ali Khan, who contested the 2024 Lok Sabha election from the constituency, cited an article by The Hindu and alleged that at least 397 people had two or more voter IDs.
Even after the SIR process in the State, “803 voter IDs are linked to 397 people in Mahadevapura’s final rolls,” he stated on X on Wednesday.
“SIR was meant, among other things, to remove “duplicate voters,” he stated. “The [Karnataka Election Commissioner's] office says it received no formal complaints about duplicate entries and will verify these cases. But that is precisely the problem. An intensive revision should find such entries.”
He asked how a newspaper could find these irregularities, but the body tasked with the SIR process couldn’t.
