FRANKFURT, 5 JULY
The State
government has unveiled the Skills Bridge Network, a strategic initiative
designed to facilitate skilled youth from the state in securing employment in
Germany. This long-term partnership, known as the Bengaluru–Germany Skills
Bridge, connects the Government Tool and Training Centre (GTTC) with German
vocational institutions and employers.
Dr. SharanaprakashPatil, State’s Minister for Medical Education, Skill Development,
Entrepreneurship and Livelihood, emphasised the initiative’s role in offering a
dignified migration pathway. “We want our youth to enter German workplaces with
confidence, fully prepared and supported by their government,” he stated during
the launch in Frankfurt.
Germany’s
increasing demand for skilled workers in sectors such as healthcare, transport,
mechatronics, and advanced manufacturing was highlighted. Karnataka produces
vast numbers of qualified youth every year, and framing proper opportunities is
now crucial.
The government's
aim is to secure placements for 500 youth in German companies annually by 2026
and scale this to 1,000 by 2030. To achieve this, skill hubs incorporating
German language labs and international curricula are being established,
alongside a digital tracking system for student mentoring throughout their
journey.
