The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2025 results were officially declared on Saturday, with students from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) securing top ranks in the engineering stream. Minister for Higher Education MC Sudhakar announced the results at a press conference, revealing that 2,62,195 ranks were declared for engineering aspirants alone.

City’s Bhavesh Jayanti of Chaitanya Techno School, Marathahalli secured the first rank in engineering with a staggering 99.06 per cent, followed by Satvik B Biradar from the same school’s Uttarahalli branch. Dinesh Gomathi Shankar Arunachalam, also from Chaitanya, stood third.

In other professional courses, too, City students performed strongly. Harish Raj DV from Narayana e-Techno, Yelahanka, bagged the top ranks in Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences (BNYS), Veterinary, and Nursing. His peer, Athreya Venkatachalam of National Public School, HSR Layout, also consistently figured among the top three in multiple streams, including Pharmacy and BNYS.

Overall, the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) received 3.30 lakh applications this year, of which 3,11,991 candidates appeared. Ranks were allotted to 2,75,677 candidates across various courses. Significant numbers include- BNYS (1,98,679), Agriculture (2,14,588), Veterinary (2,18,282), B.Pharm (2,66,256), Pharm-D (2,66,757), and BSc Nursing (2,08,171).

This year’s exam system was upgraded with facial recognition in the official mobile app to prevent impersonation. All centres had live webcasting. For the first time, over 11.67 lakh OMR sheets were uploaded online, accessible for public scrutiny.

Sudhakar also clarified technical errors that occurred during the announcement of engineering toppers, attributing it to confusion in merging eligibility and PU exam scores. The government claims to have improved helpline services by expanding the system from five to ten lines, now operational daily from 5am to 8pm.

Document verification has already been completed online in advance of the counselling process. The seat selection process is expected to commence shortly after NEET results are declared.
