The death of 45-year-old advocate Jagadish H, whose bludgeoned body was discovered on NICE Road on Saturday, is now believed to be a hit-and-run accident during a road rage incident.
It was initially suspected to be a murder. Initial reports suggesting a assault with sharp weapons led a relative of the victim to file a murder complaint at Kengeri Police Station.

Following a detailed probe and review of CCTV footage, police concluded that Jagadish, a resident of Ullal and native of Malavalli in Mandya, died after a hit-and-run. While returning home, his car reportedly scraped against a truck. The lorry driver pulled over a short distance ahead, and Jagadish stopped to confront him. During the ensuing argument, Jagadish stepped onto the road and was struck by another speeding truck.

The impact caused severe head injuries, and he died on the spot due to excessive bleeding. The second truck driver, unaware he had hit someone, stopped half a kilometre ahead to inspect his vehicle and then continued driving.

Jagadish’s body was found roughly 100 metres from his parked car, which still had its parking lights on. The Kengeri police have since detained the truck driver involved for questioning and are awaiting the post-mortem report to finalise the case.
