Bidar, 1 May
Legislative Assembly Speaker UT Khader revealed receiving death threats
from multiple sources, including the underworld. Addressing reporters in Bidar
on Thursday, Khader responded to Anupama Shenoy’s claim that he was threatened
by the Popular Front of India (PFI), stating, “There’s no need to set up an NIA
office in Mangaluru for my sake. If it benefits the public, let it be done.”
Remaining resolute, Khader said, “Where one is born and
where one dies is written by God. I pray for a peaceful death — all is in God’s
hands.”
Condemning the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, Khader called for swift and strict action. “The central government
must act against those behind the attack. Justice must be ensured for the
victims and the nation,” he said, stressing that terrorism aims to disrupt
national harmony and weaken secularism.
On the issue of caste census, Khader maintained
neutrality, stating, “It is a matter for the Centre and State. As Speaker, I
remain neutral to both ruling and opposition parties. My role restricts public
commentary.”
Khader’s remarks underscore the need for strong governance and national unity amid threats to public safety and democratic values.
