Bengaluru, 22 April

An FIR has been registered against Indian Air Force Wing Commander ShiladityaBose in the road rage incident that took place on Monday in CV Raman Nagar.

Meanwhile, Pro Kannada organisation protested outside the Byappanahalli Police Station in Bengaluru demanding action against the officer.
The 40-year-old officer has been booked for attempt to murder, criminal intimidation, and voluntarily causing hurt, following a counter-complaint by the biker, who is call centre employee, police said on Tuesday.

The officer had earlier alleged he was attacked and verbally abused by a group of Kannada-speaking individuals after being chased on a bike. However, police investigations, including CCTV footage, indicated that the altercation was triggered when the IAF officer’s car, driven by his wife—Squadron Leader Madhumita Dutta—grazed a two-wheeler.

The biker, identified as Vikas Kumar, a team lead at a software company’s call centre, was arrested based on a complaint filed by Madhumita. CCTV footage shows a heated confrontation, during which Bose was seen physically attacking Kumar, despite his wife's attempts to restrain him.

Home Minister G Parameshwara confirmed that an FIR had been registered against Bose, but noted that he had left for West Bengal following the incident.

In a video statement, Kumar’s mother, Jyothi, appealed for justice for her son. “We didn’t file a police complaint initially thinking it was a small issue, but now they’ve turned it into something bigger and are harassing my son,” she said.
