Ahead of the Common Entrance Test (CET) scheduled for 16 and 17 April, City Police have announced stringent precautionary measures to ensure smooth and fair conduct of the exams.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda has issued prohibitory orders, declaring a 200m radius around all CET exam centres as restricted zones on both days. As part of these measures, all photocopy (xerox) shops within this zone must remain closed during exam hours to prevent any possibility of malpractice.

A total of 157 examination centres fall under the Bengaluru Police Commissionerate. The restrictions will be enforced from 10am. until the end of examinations each day.

All divisional Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) have been instructed to deploy adequate security and maintain strict surveillance at their respective centres. “These measures are being taken to conduct the exams in a seamless and malpractice-free manner,” Commissioner Dayananda stated.

The CET, conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), is a key examination for students aspiring to join professional courses across Karnataka. Authorities have urged residents near exam centres to extend their cooperation, emphasising the importance of these steps in safeguarding the integrity of the examination process.
