Electronic City traffic police have filed a case against a truck driver who allegedly caused a massive traffic congestion by abandoning his vehicle on Hosur Road near the NICE Road entry on Wednesday. The incident led to severe traffic jams lasting nearly four hours.

Around 4:30 pm, the truck, with registration number NL01 AE 6646, was parked across the highway, blocking access to the NICE Road.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Shivaprakash Devaraju stated that the disruption began after a traffic officer stopped the truck near Konappana Agrahara for violating several traffic regulations. Heavy Goods Vehicles are restricted from entering the city during peak hours, and the driver was found guilty of parking on a main road and driving through a no-entry zone.

"When asked to pay a fine for the violations, the driver allegedly abused the officer. He then parked his truck across the road, blocking the route to the NICE Road, and fled the scene," Devaraju said. The truck's position effectively halted the flow of vehicles attempting to access the busy road.

Efforts by the traffic police to clear the obstruction were challenging, but the truck was finally removed around 7:30 pm, restoring normal traffic flow. -Salar News
