Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) has issued an advisory
requesting the public to avoid certain roads and junctions and use alternative
routes on Friday and Saturday in view of a religious event at Palace Grounds.
The event titled ‘Namah Shivaya’ is conducted by Sri Sri
Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam between 10.30am and 1.30pm on Saturday. Vice
President Jagdeep Dhankar, Union Minister of Consumer Affairs Pralhad Joshi,
Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and Union Minister of State for Railways
and Jal Shakti V Somanna along with other dignitaries are expected to attend
the event.
Parking Restrictions
As per the notification shared by BTP, parking of all types
of vehicles will be prohibited on HAL Road, Cubbon Road, MG Road (Trinity to
Mayo Hall), Rajbhavan Road and Ambedkar Veedhi from 4.15pm to 9pm on Friday.
To regulate the traffic on Ballari Road, Jayamahal Road and
the area surrounding Palace Grounds, traffic police have prohibited parking of
all types of vehicles from 9am to 2pm on Saturday on Rajbhavan Road, Bellary
Road, Infantry Road, Cubbon Road, MG Road (Trinity to Mayo Hall) and HAL
Road.
For the people visiting the event at Palace Grounds, the
following arrangements have been made. Public coming by bus and Tempo
Travellers should move on Jayamahal Road and park their vehicles at Circus
Grounds near TV Tower. While leaving the venue, they are requested to take
Jayamahal Road and exit via Mekhri Circle.
People coming by four-wheelers and two-wheelers shall move
towards Gate Numbers 2, 3 or 4 and park their vehicles in designated spots.
While leaving, they shall take Tripura Vasini Exit Gate and take Jayamahal Road
and pass through Mekhri Circle.
Alternative routes for public
Motorists going towards Palace Road can take a diversion at
Mysore Bank Circle towards Vasanth Nagar Underpass. Alternative routes from
LRDE junction to Hebbal can be used to reach Ballari Road. To reach Cunningham
Road, take Balekundri Circle towards Le Meridian underpass. Similarly, the road
from Yeshwanthapura to Tata Institute of Science can be used to reach Mekhri
Circle. To reach Cantonment, public are requested to take Queens Road,
Thimmaiah Circle towards Balekundri Circle. For Yeshwantpur flyover, motorists
can take Marappana Palya, Parijata Junction, Orion Mall and reach Rajkumar
Road.
Movement restrictions for HMV
To ensure smooth traffic, movements of heavy goods vehicles
(HMV) are strictly restricted on CMTI Junction, Mysore Bank Junction, Hebbal
Junction, New BEL Junction, BHEL Underpass, Basaveshwara Circle, Old Udaya TV
Junction, Hajj Camp, Nandidurga Road and Yeshwantpur road from 8am to 1pm on
