Speaking to Salar
News, Dr Susheela Appachu, a General Physician and Gynaecologist practising
near Pulikeshi Nagar, stated, “A significant number of patients with high-grade
fever often test positive for dengue. The most common symptoms include high
fever, abdominal pain, bleeding gums and nose, vomiting, blood in vomit or stools,
and extreme tiredness. It’s crucial to be cautious about our environment, as
food and water can carry these diseases. Anyone who has visited dengue-prone
areas should get tested immediately to prevent further complications.”
. Dr Asima
Banu, Principal and Chief Virologist at Bangalore Medical College and Research
Institute, Kalasipalya, told Salar News, “Out of every 10 patients with
flu-like symptoms, around six are diagnosed with viral fever, characterised by
chest cold, sore throat, and diarrhea. Others exhibit signs of dengue, often
experiencing a drop in platelet count, indicating a vector-borne illness.”
