Ahead of monsoon, CM pulls up officials
Siddaramaiah issues notices to parties responsible for delayed projects

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar inspected monsoon preparedness and also reviewed the ongoing civic projects in Bengaluru on Wednesday. They were accompanied by top officials from Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM), Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), and Bangalore Development Authority (BDA).
The Chief Minister, the Deputy Chief Minister and the team
visited Vijayanagar, BTM Layout, Bommanahalli and Shantinagar Assembly
constituencies on a BMTC bus. Siddaramaiah issued notices to the parties
responsible for the delayed projects and set a deadline for their completion.
The Chief Minister instructed that all potholes on ward,
arterial and sub-arterial roads must be filled within one month. Currently,
there are 5,500 potholes on ward roads and 557 potholes on arterial and
sub-arterial roads.
During his visit to Vijayanagar constituency, Siddaramaiah
allotted Rs 11.5 crore for constructing a canal parallel to a rajakaluve to
prevent flooding at Shri Gali Anjaneya Swamy Temple in Deepanjali Nagar.
Siddaramaiah warned BBMP engineers of suspension if they didn’t complete the
canal by June-July.
Siddarmaiah also announced Rs 7 crore for constructing
canals near Nayandahalli flyover by the end of this year to avoid flooding.
To avoid flooding during the monsoon at Kodichikkanahalli,
the Chief Minister announced Rs 4.3 crore to install pump sets. A total of Rs
4.5 crore was allotted to improve the drainage system near Silk Board Metro
Station near Hosur main road.
Reviewing Ejipura flyover project, Siddaramaiah issued a
notice to the contractors, demanding an explanation for the 15-month delay and
the completion of only six per cent of the work. Siddaramaiah warned that if
the contractors failed to provide a satisfactory explanation, he would cancel
their tenders and reassign the project to others. —Salar News
