BENGALURU, 21 MARCH

A two-and-a-half-year-old and her grandmother were found murdered in Adichunchanagiri, Nagamangala taluk on Tuesday.

The bodies of Rishika and Jayamma, 46, were found chopped in a jute bag which was floating in Adichunchanagiri Lake.

Police said the deceased toddler and her grandmother are from Kadur taluk in Chikkamagaluru. On 12 March Jayamma took Rishika along with her to collect money owed to her by an individual from Adichunchanagiri. They did not return home, and Jayamma did not answer her calls too, following which her son Praveen filed a missing persons report with the Ajjapur police station.

On 18 March, Praveen received a call and the caller revealed that Jayamma and Rishika had been murdered; their remains were bundled into a bag and dumped into the lake.  Praveen and the police rushed to the scene and found the decomposed bodies.
