A 17-year-old boy killed his 40-year-old mother with a metal rod and surrendered himself at the police station. The incident occurred near Justice Bheemaiah Layout around 7.30am on Friday after the mother denied him breakfast over a heated argument.

Pavan, a diploma student at a private college, had asked his mother to serve him breakfast while he prepared for classes. However, the morning took an awful turn as a heated exchange of words led to the murder.

Reportedly, Nethra, the mother, scolded her son and expressed her frustration, stating, "You are not my son; I won't feed you,” police said. An enraged Pavan then struck his mother on the head with a rod.

The son later surrenders to the cops, a police official said. The case falls under the KR Puram jurisdiction.
