Breaking the stereotypes for artists not landing a full-time job, the artists’ community at GAFX 2024 are giving every reason for companies to hire them.

Nearly 2,500 artists gathered at the Game, Animation and VFX (GAFX) fair seeking jobs. It is an annual event supported by the Government to enrich the local artistic community.

Speaking to Salar News, artists claimed that there are plenty of job opportunities for them but companies shy away from hiring them. They also flagged low awareness about the jobs for artists.

Dheekshetha K, a clay sculpture artist from Bengaluru told Salar News, “After I finished my degree in sculpting I had no idea about the type of jobs that I have to look for. I waited for over 1.5 years and then found out that many car showrooms are looking for sculpting artists to do a 3D module of automobiles.”

Many artists expressed their concern about declining job opportunities in Bengaluru. They hope that the City comes together to raise awareness about the importance of artists in various fields and create more opportunities for them.

Artists said that companies should move away from their traditional approach of pitching their projects and added that they could help the companies use sustainable materials to present their products at a cheaper price.
