BENGALURU, 25 JAN


Gianna Ann Jito, a student, 4, is in critical condition in Bengaluru after a fall from her preschool's terrace. The incident at Delhi Pre-School in Chellikere in Kalyan Nagar, on 22 January has raised concerns, with suspicions about the school's account and unclear details surrounding the accident.

 

Initially, the school told Gianna was injured because she hit a wall at the daycare, fell and vomited. However, later reports revealed that she fell from the terrace. The parents made multiple visits to different hospitals and then finally admitted her to Aster CMI Hospital. Her parents are distraught and perplexed by the inconsistencies. The school claims the CCTV malfunctioned that day, raising eyebrows amidst the family's discovery of bloodstains on the terrace. They filed a police complaint in Hennur police station.

 

Deepak L, Police Inspector of Hennur, told Salar News, “The child is in critical condition in the ICU. We are trying our best to collect concrete proof regarding this incident.”  Gianna's fight for life and the unanswered questions around her fall under concerns about safety protocols and transparency in institutions entrusted with childcare.
