Live telecast to mass lunch: City gears up for Ram Mandir
Jain community has come forward to sponsor most of the events. Industries in Peenya have also decided to shut shop after the event on that day.

BENGALURU, 18 JAN
Groups of people
across the City are planning to telecast the Ram Mandir inauguration live on
live on LED screens followed by mass food distribution on 22 January. Jain
community has come forward to sponsor most of the events.
Industries in
Peenya have also decided to shut shop after the event on that day.
“It is a historic day for all of us and
we have decided to screen the Ram Mandir consecration live on LED screens for
the benefit of people. Our brothers from the Jain community are working with us
in tandem for the smooth conduct of the event. After the consecration we plan
to have a mass food distribution as part of the celebrations,” Ayyapaneni R
Chakradhar Reddy, an organiser of one such event at Banjara Layout in Horamavu
said. In fact, some of the private schools in the City will also telecast the
consecration ceremony.
R Harish, a resident of Jayanagar 4th
Block, said, “It is indeed an important day for all of us and a few days ago
all the youngsters in the area decided to put up tents and screen the event
live.”
The City police are yet to make an
announcement on these celebrations and the norms to be followed about road
closures and traffic management.
Youngsters, youth groups and some
resident associations have also planned other programmes on 22 January. State
BJP and pro-Hindu organisations have launched a massive campaign to visit Hindu
households and distribute ‘akshate’ (unbroken rice grains coated with haldi and
kumkum) and images of the Ram temple. Salar News
Pottery Town sees surge in diya orders
As the days for Ram Mandir's
inauguration nears, the demand for earthen diyas has gone up. The potters in
City’s Pottery Town in Pulakeshinagar have received bulk orders of diyas.
A Shri Rama Sena trust from JP Nagar
has ordered 28,000 pieces of diyas from Raja in Pottery town. Each piece is
being sold at Rs 6. “Apart from Deepavali, this is the first time we have
received such a bulk order. The trust is planning to distribute diyas to
temples and Ram devotees. Hence, the bulk orders,” said Raja. Salar News
Hospital
announces free delivery of newborns
The decision was announced by the 'Shri Siddeshwar Loka Kalyana
Charitable Trust', which runs the JSS Super Speciality Hospital here.
Vijayapura MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal hailed the initiative as
"Ayodhya Celebration".
Ramanagara
man to play ‘Mangal
Vadya’ in Ayodhya
Ramanagara resident Vijay Kumar has received an invitation from
Ram Mandir Trust to play Mangal Vadya in Ayodhya’s newly built temple. Mangal Vadya
is a reed instrument with seven holes along the tube.
He will be in Ayodhya for 48 days playing Mangal Vadya for Lord
Ram devotees along with his ten team members consisting of four nadaswaram
players, four drummers, one saxophone player, and two tala-shruti (rhythm
instrument) players
Kumar, a seasoned drummer, has been playing Mangal Vadya on Ram
Navami in Ayodhya since 2008.
The invitation for Vijay Kumar and his team came directly from
Champal Roy, Gopal, and Pejawar pontiff of Ram Mandir Trust.
The team comprises skilled musicians from Mysuru, Srirangapatna,
Melukote, and Mandya.
