Critics Choice Awards: 'One Battle After Another', 'The Pitt' & 'Adolescence' win big

Paul Thomas Anderson, Guillermo del Toro and Ryan Coogler feature among major winners at Critics Choice 2026.

One Battle After Another, a political satire directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, emerged as the top winner at the 31st Critics Choice Awards, securing Best Picture along with Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay.


In film categories, Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein and Ryan Coogler’s Sinners followed closely, winning four awards each. Frankenstein earned honours for Best Supporting Actor (Jacob Elordi), production design, hair and makeup, and costume design.


Sinners picked up awards for original screenplay, casting, score, and Best Young Performer for Miles Caton.


Acting awards saw Jessie Buckley named Best Actress for Hamnet, while Timothée Chalamet won Best Actor for Marty Supreme. Amy Madigan took Best Supporting Actress for Weapons.


In animation, Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters won Best Animated Feature and Best Song for Golden. Brazil-set political drama The Secret Agent claimed Best Foreign Language Film.


On the television front, The Pitt was named Best Drama Series, with Noah Wyle winning Best Actor and Katherine LaNasa Best Supporting Actress. The Studio secured Best Comedy Series, while Seth Rogen and Ike Barinholtz won acting honours in comedy categories.


Adolescence dominated the limited series segment, winning Best Limited Series along with acting awards for Stephen Graham and Owen Cooper. Sarah Snook won Best Actress in a Limited Series for All Her Fault.


Jean Smart took Best Actress in a Comedy Series for Hacks, Rhea Seehorn won Best Actress in a Drama Series for Pluribus, and Tramell Tillman was named Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for Severance.


Jimmy Kimmel won Best Talk Show and used his acceptance speech to stress the importance of free expression, drawing applause from the audience. The ceremony was hosted by Chelsea Handler for the fourth consecutive year.
