WASHINGTON, 23 JULY
According to sources, Coca-Cola has confirmed the launch of a new version of its iconic soda after US President Donald Trump on social media posted that the company has agreed to use cane sugar in its drinks.
In the new drink, the company will be using sugar canes from the US instead of its usual product sweetener, high fructose corn syrup, it said.
America used corn syrup as a source of sweetener in most of its products.
The company’s response follows Trump’s post on Truth Social on 16 July, which said, “I have been speaking to Coca-Cola about using REAL Cane Sugar in Coke in the United States, and they have agreed to do so."
"I'd like to thank all of those in authority at Coca-Cola," he added.
Trump in another post on Wednesday said, "This will be a very good move by them - You'll see. It's just better!"
Many health experts are advising food industries to stop using corn syrup, seed oil and artificial dyes in their food as these ingredients are major reasons for health issues, sources said.
