Wiltshire, 23 July

Rosie Roche, a distant cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry, was found dead at her family home in Norton, Wiltshire on 14 July, with a firearm discovered nearby, according to reports. She was 20 years old.

Rosie was the granddaughter of Princess Diana’s uncle and a second-year English literature student at Durham University. She was reportedly preparing for a trip with friends when her mother and sister discovered her body. Durham University confirmed her passing and said she “will be sorely missed.”

Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances of her death. The Wiltshire and Swindon coroner has deemed the death “non-suspicious” and confirmed there was no third-party involvement. A full inquest is scheduled for 25 October.

An obituary published in The Yorkshire Post on 19 July described her as the “darling daughter of Hugh and Pippa” and “wonderful sister to Archie and Agatha.” A private funeral service will be held for the family, followed by a memorial.

Officials have emphasised there is no connection between Rosie’s death and the recent passing of Thomas Kingston, the husband of Lady Gabriella Kingston, who died earlier this year from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
