At stake are potentially billions of dollars withheld from Iran through crushing sanctions and the future of a programme on the precipice of enriching weapons-grade uranium.

WASHINGTON, 5 FEB
US President Donald Trump has said that he has left
instruction to “obliterate” Iran if he is assassinated by the regime.
The United States has charged Iran with trying to
assassinate Trump. Last year, the Department of Justice indicted many persons
for trying to assassinate Trump on behalf of Iran. One of them was quoted as
saying that Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) was behind the plot.
Meanwhile, Iran's rial plunged on Wednesday to a record low
of 850,000 to the US dollar after US President Donald Trump on the previous day
signed an order to restart the “maximum pressure” campaign targeting Tehran.
The order seeks halting of Iran's oil exports and pursuing a “snapback” of UN
sanctions on Iran.
