Raichur, 1 November

A heart-wrenching incident came to light in Jalal Nagar in Raichur city, where the father allegedly killed two of his three children and his wife and then died by suicide. One child has survived, but is injured.

The deceased are Vishnu Reddy, 45, his wife Aruna, 36, son Shlok, 10, and daughter Khushi, 7. The couple's elder son Suhas is safe, police said.

Vishnu, a resident of Jalal Nagar, had reportedly suffered heavy losses in his business. Police suspect that severe financial distress may have led to the extreme step.

Vishnu allegedly killed his wife and two children at their residence and later committed suicide near Chiksugur village on the outskirts of Raichur city. The bodies of Aruna and the two children were found inside the house, while Vishnu was found dead near the railway track.

The survival of elder son Suhas is considered crucial to the investigation. Police are gathering information about his whereabouts at the time of the incident.

Raichur SP Arunangshu Giri told Salar News, "Preliminary inquiry suggests business loss could be the reason. However, the motive will be known only after a detailed investigation."

All four bodies were shifted to RIMS Hospital, Raichur for autopsy. A case was registered at the Market Yard Police Station, and investigation is underway.
