Kalaburagi constable suspended after drinking beer on mosque roof
A medical examination confirmed that the constable had consumed alcohol while on duty, police said.

A constable from the Mahagaon Police Station in Kalaburagi district has been suspended after he allegedly entered a mosque in an inebriated state and consumed beer on its roof.
The suspended constable has been identified as Hanamanth Reddy. Kalaburagi SP Adduru Srinivasulu issued the suspension order.
The incident took place in Harasur village under Mahagaon police limits in Kamalapur taluk. A clash had broken out in the village on Thursday, and police was deployed to maintain order and to provide security to the house involved in the quarrel.
Constable Hanamanth Reddy, who was on duty, allegedly forgot his responsibility and misbehaved. He consumed alcohol in the evening and climbed onto the roof of the Harasur village mosque and openly drank beer.
Villagers captured the act on their phones and shared it on social media. The video went viral and triggered outrage. Villagers confronted the constable and lodged a complaint at the Mahagaon police station along with the video.
A medical examination confirmed that the constable had consumed alcohol while on duty and Kalaburagi SP Adduru Srinivasulu suspended Hanamanth Reddy. A case has been registered at Mahagaon Police Station.
