A breakfast organised for the families of Dasara mahouts and kavadis turned embarrassing on Monday after Mysuru District In-Charge Minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah arrived an hour late, prompting MLA Tanveer Sait to leave the venue expressing displeasure. He was angry at making the mahouts and kavadis wait for their breakfast. 

The district administration had organised the breakfast on the Mysuru Palace premises at 9 am, but the minister arrived only at 10.15 am. Sait, who had waited for nearly 45 minutes, expressed his displeasure over the delay during a conversation with Deputy Commissioner Lakshmikanth Reddy. 

Speaking to reporters after serving breakfast to mahouts and kavadis, Yathindra said he was held up as he had moved into a new home. His mother was also out of station and hence he was running late, and he had told that to Sait, he said.

He said the government has made all preparations for Dasara. The Dasara inaugural chief guest Gavisiddeshwara Swamiji was chosen by the CM after consulting the seer. Directions have been given to officials to stop all road works till Dasara is over. 

He also released posters for Yuva Dasara, Raitha Dasara, Women's Dasara, Kambala, and a pet show on the occasion.
