A financial dispute between a father and son ended in a brutal murder in Hassikera village of Aurad taluk in Bidar district.

The deceased has been identified as Dilip Kurnale, 56, a resident of Hassikera. His son, Krishna Kurnale, 27, is the accused. He has been arrested and taken for interrogation by police.

According to police information, Krishna, though married, was completely dependent on his father's earnings, allegedly demanding that his father either give him his share of the property or pay for his daily expenses.

On Tuesday, Krishna allegedly took Rs 500 from his father's pocket without informing him. When Dilip questioned his son on this, a heated altercation broke out that soon turned violent. In a fit of rage, Krishna reportedly hit Dilip's head with a stone four times. Dilip later succumbed to his injuries.

As soon as information about the incident was received, Bhalki Deputy SP Ballappa Nandagavi visited the spot. Thanakushnoor police registered a case and arrested the accused. Police said further investigation is underway.
