Prominent actors from the Kannada film industry will participate in the Dasara procession, Deputy Commissioner G Lakshmikantha Reddy said on Wednesday.

Chairing a meeting with representatives of the Kannada film industry, the DC said the participation of leading film personalities and accomplished sports persons had been planned in line with Chief Minister DK Shivakumar’s vision of making the Dasara celebrations more inclusive.

He said renowned actors, actresses, film personalities and high-achieving sportspersons would be taken in an open-top ‘Ambari’ bus from the Mysuru Palace premises towards KR Circle on the day of the Dasara procession.

After reaching KR Circle, they would be brought back to the Palace and accommodated in the gallery to witness the grand procession.

Karnataka Film Chambers of Commerce and Industries Association president Jayamala said that a tableau marking the 93 years of formation of Kannada production activities will be taken out in a procession during the Vijayadashami savari procession. 

Former president of Karnataka Film Chambers of Commerce and Industries Association Sa Ra Govindu also urged the district administration to felicitate prominent Kannada actors and personalities during the Dasara festivities.
