The Karnataka Tourism Department has directed officials to prepare an action plan for the ‘Clean and Green Hampi’ campaign to enhance cleanliness, environmental conservation, and visitor facilities at the World Heritage Site.

During a video conference, Tourism Secretary Ram Prasath Manohar, under instructions from Minister K J George, urged the Hampi Development Authority and Vijayanagara Deputy Commissioner Kavitha S Manikere to involve the public and tourists actively.

The campaign focuses on cleanliness, plastic control, and infrastructure maintenance, with steps to ban plastic within the Heritage Area. The department plans to appoint an agency for site maintenance and construct new sanitation facilities, aiming to preserve Hampi’s heritage while promoting a clean, green, and visitor-friendly environment.
