Bengaluru, 7 August

The Election Commission has once again extended the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Karnataka, giving Booth Level Officers (BLOs) additional time to complete house-to-house verification and enumeration.

Under the revised timeline, BLOs will now continue field visits until 17 August, while the draft electoral rolls will be published on 24 August, replacing the earlier schedule. The revision aims to ensure that eligible voters are correctly included in the electoral rolls and that errors are minimised before the publication of the draft list.

The extension provides voters with more time to submit enumeration forms, verify their details and cooperate with officials during the ongoing verification exercise.

Following the publication of the draft rolls, electors will be able to file claims and objections for corrections, additions or deletions before the final electoral roll is prepared in accordance with the Election Commission's schedule.
