Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje has sought a CBI investigation into the alleged irregularities in the recruitment of Veterinary Officers by the Karnataka Public Service Commission, alleging that the selection process was compromised by serious lapses.

In a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah dated 2 August, Karandlaje claimed the alleged irregularities had raised serious concerns over the transparency, fairness and credibility of the constitutional recruitment body.

She alleged that the recruitment process reflected possible misuse of official machinery and a systematic abuse of the selection mechanism.

She warned that failure to act against such irregularities could erode public trust in government recruitment and deprive deserving candidates of fair opportunities. She added that job aspirants deserved a transparent and merit-based system.

Stating that the integrity of the KPSC was central to ensuring equal access to public employment under Article 14 of the Constitution, Karandlaje said any compromise in its functioning would weaken public faith in constitutional institutions and the rule of law.
